- I was born 1887 in Hinds County, in dee great state of Mississippi. Grew up jus' down da road from da PATTONS. Palled around with CHARLEY till we was oh, 'bout knee high to a hickory bush. Was ther' when he took up with Henry Sloan and stated on dee GUIT-TAR. Me and Charley, Willie Brown, and this little SNOT nose Robert Johnson played at all the best Jukes in Dockerys. Still have me old BOX fom dem days hangin' on dee wall. Always loved Books, Makin' PICTURES, Music, them new fangled automobiles, lookin' sharp, Guit-boxes, Barrelhousin' and causin' a RUCKUS.
